In Kelly’s first email to me, she talked about her vision for a super laid back teepee wedding in a bluebell wood on the outskirts of Birmingham.

Shall I just repeat that? A super laid back… teepee wedding… in a bluebell wood.

Obviously, I was in.  And I cannot tell you how happy I am that I was able to photograph Kelly and Jason’s wedding at the Umberslade Wedding Venue.

It was so beautiful and heartfelt, with their two children there to celebrate with them.  Firstly, woodland weddings of any description are amazing to photograph, but when you have a huge teepee with fairy lights inside it, and a firepit outside with hay bale seats, you cannot go wrong!  Especially when there is a canoe full of beer.

The weather was all over the place. There was thunder, hail, torrential rain and… brilliant sunshine exactly when we needed it!  As a Birmingham wedding photographer, a lot of my weddings are in the city or in hotels around it, so it’s delightful when I get to photograph in my hometown that is green and boho!

I’ll stop fangirling now and leave you to enjoy the blush bridesmaids in a cornfield, toasted marshmallows around the fire and stunning sparkler send off.  Enjoy x

How gorgeous is this teepee!  Not only did it have space for trestle tables but also a fairy-lit dancefloor!

Kelly chose a wildflower bouquet with Gypsophilia for her bridesmaids!   Simple but so beautiful and effective!  Not only does Umberslade boast a beautiful woodland, it is also right next to a cornfield where we took some shots of the bridal party and the gorgeous pink umbrellas Kelly (wisely) bought.

Kelly and Jason had their friends and family send them off with sparklers!  This is such a gorgeous and increasingly popular idea and it’s one of my favourites!  Plus the guests get super excited!
